| How do I become a member of the East Bethel Royalty? |
Why become a candidate? Our program helps to teach young women skills that they will need in the future. Throughout the candidacy process, you will gain self-confidence through experience and knowledge in Public Speaking, Interviewing, and Etiquette. These are skills that will be beneficial long after the candidate process is over. You will have the opportunity to meet new people and participate in fun community events and volunteer activities. Being a candidate is a fun way for you and a friend to spend time together for two months in the summer and there is always the chance that you could spend the whole year together as royalty. What will I need as a candidate? 1) $25 candidate fee to hold your spot this will cover the cost of a t-shirt and candidate sash 2) A sponsor to cover the cost of sponsorship. For Miss East Bethel the cost is $150, Junior Princess is $100, and for Little Miss is $75. Your sponsor can be any business or person who wants to sponsor you. If you have difficulties finding a sponsor, let us know and we will help you find one. 3) Formal Dress. Use your prom dress or look for this dress at after prom sales. Do not spend a fortune on a dress. You are not judged on the clothes that you wear. Little Miss candidates will also need a formal dress in any color. Look for a flower girl, 1st communion, or party/pageant dress. 4) Parade dress. This dress can be a sundress, or any dress that you would wear to church or some other semi-formal gathering. 5) Interview outfit. This is any type of outfit that you would wear at a job interview. Requirements for Miss East Bethel and Princess candidates: 1) Be a female between the ages of 16-21 by 7/1/11. 2) Either live or work in East Bethel or attend school in St. Francis, Andover or Forest Lake School Districts. 3) Never have been married or pregnant. 4) Cannot currently co-habitate with a significant other. 5) Be willing to attend rehearsals and other candidate events. 6) A sponsor Requirements for East Bethel Junior Princess candidates 1) Be a female between the ages of 11-13 by 7/1/11. 2) Either live in East Bethel or attend school in St. Francis, Andover or Forest Lake School Districts. 3) Never have been pregnant. 4) Be willing to attend rehearsals and other candidate events. 5) A sponsor Requirements for East Bethel Little Miss Candidates: 1) Be a female 6-8 years old on 7/1/11. 2) Either live or work in East Bethel or attend school in St. Francis, Andover or Forest Lake School District 3) Be willing to attend rehearsals and other candidate events. 4) A sponsor What do I get if I become royalty? -Crown and sash -Dress Allowance -College scholarship or savings bond -Travel all over Minnesota -Volunteer hours within the community of East Bethel -Your picture in the local newspapers -Meet new people from all around MN and networking opportunities -Miss East Bethel also gets the opportunity to continue on and compete at the Minneapolis Aquatennial Queen of the Lakes Program (if age appropriate).
